1. Grading system is a percentile (0-100) with the lowest Passing Mark being 50. 2. Classes 1-3: Final Examination grades count 25% of the General Average. Classes 4-7: Final Examination grades count for 40% of the General Average. 3. A student is normally promoted to the upper class when he/she has acquired a passing grade in all subjects taken in his/her programmes. 4. If a student fails one or two subjects he/she is considered “TO BE RE-EXAMINED” in those subjects. Failure in any one or both of the re-examinations, is considered as failing that class. 5. If a student fails in three subjects, he/she is considered as “FAILED”. 6. Students who score a 30% or less on a final exam will be automatically re-examined in that subject even if their average in that subject is above 50%. The Re-examinations are given before the following academic year. 7. If a student has more than 60 unjustified absences or more than 160 combined Justified/Unjustified absences at the end of the school year, The Grammar School reserves the right to have a student repeat the year in compliance with the Laws of the Ministry of Education. If a student is absent, justifiably or not, in excess of seven times the number of periods per week in that particular subject, the School reserves the right to have the student Re-Examined in September, in accordance with the Laws of the Ministry of Education. 8.
