Grades 1, 2, 3: Recreational art is offered in grades 1-3. Students are encouraged and assisted to develop practical and critical abilities within a wide range of art and design activities. They are given the opportunity to experiment across a wide area in a variety of media.

Grades 4 & 5 (elective): The Art and Design GCSE offers a choice of subjects in which the students may experiment in a range of media, and work from their own observation and imagination. Furthermore, they are encouraged to develop their own artistic and design skills.

Grades 6 & 7 (elective): The Art and Design Advanced Level examination consists of the Advanced Subsidiary and the Advanced GCE. The Advanced Subsidiary is the first half of the Advanced GCE course and is made up of two units: Unit 1 – coursework and  Unit 2 –Externally Set Assignment. The second half of the Advanced GCE is similarly made up of two units: Unit 4 – Coursework and  Unit 5 - Externally Set Assignment. The aim of the syllabus is to give the students freedom of choice in subject matter in order to reflect their particular strengths and aptitudes. The students will develop the skills to interpret and convey their ideas using art, craft and design, developing both their imaginative and creative powers. A specialist vocabulary will also be enhanced with the knowledge and understanding of the place of art, craft and design in history and in contemporary society. Ultimately, the focus is upon specialist areas of art and design work.
