Services offered by Grammar School

Dear Parents/Guardians,
In order to enhance our communication and relationship with yourselves and to better the education of your child, we would like to inform you of some extra services:

1) Support hours:
Introduced in September 2005, we feel that it has helped the students immensely. This will continue and ways to implement in the Junior School are already being discussed. The first week of school the students should receive an appropriate schedule of teacher availability.

2) Counselling:
A licensed psychologist and Family Counsellor is available any time for all students. All meetings are confidential and the counsellor provides support on issues ranging from student motivation to family conflicts. His name is Costa Constantinides and his number is 99682002.

3) Careers Counselling:
A professional Careers Counsellor is available for advice, assistance with University applications etc. on a full time basis.

4) Parents' Support Group:
Open to all parents if they feel the need to share their anxieties about raising their children. Facilitated by the School Counselor, the group meets weekly to see how parents get off track and discover alternative parenting strategies that build self esteem, improve communication and tackle sensitive issues such as divorce, dating or drugs.

5) Focus Group :
Open to all parents and teachers, it is a planning arena for policy evaluation and potential change in a systematic, democratic, inclusive progress.

The school is making a serious attempt to ensure that you are informed of special dates, events, holidays and of any happenings in the school.

However, we need your cooperation as we can never be certain that you have been informed.

4) Academic Calendar - given to students at the beginning of the school year, but also available from office.

5) A Calendar of Events will be located in school Reception area.

Finally The Grammar School and Junior School each have two (2) Parents Afternoons annually in which you are given the opportunity to discuss the progress of your child.
However, if you feel the need to discuss your child’s progress at any given time, you can simply call the school and arrange an appointment with the appropriate teacher or administrator.
