Applying to The Grammar School is simple, we believe in a personal approach and making things easy. All new students to the school are required to take an entrance examination in English (or Greek for Greek speakers in class 1) and Mathematics.
For class 1 students we know that the transition from primary to secondary education can be both an exciting and challenging process for students and parents alike.
For students joining us from the Cyprus public school system, arrangements for transition start with a series of lessons offered to prepare them for their entrance examination.
Students joining from the Grammar School Junior are not required to take entrance examinations but are expected to have graduated with above average end of year grades. Students with unsatisfactory grades are required to pass entrance examinations in English and Mathematics in order to secure a place in class 1.
In September, before normal lessons start, all class 1 students are given the opportunity to visit the school and experience two full days of induction activities.
New students to the school are required to take an entrance examination in English and Mathematics.
New students to the school for class 6 are required to take an entrance examination in English and Mathematics. Once entrance examinations are passed, students are required to choose 3 or 4 elective A- level subjects in addition to the necessary compulsory lessons.
However, entry into these A- level subjects require a knowledge criterion that corresponds to the successful completion of the Higher-level GCSE/IGCSE or equivalent. This knowledge criterion is required for all subjects except Politics and Graphic Communication.
Class 1: May be awarded to the top-ranking students of the entrance examinations. These scholarships can be maintained until graduation provided the students are ranked within the top 10% of their class each and every year.
Classes 2-7: Scholarships may be awarded according to the end of year class ranking. These scholarships are only of a limited duration and apply only for the following academic year.
We are on hand to answer any questions that you may have and assist you with reserving your place.
